A beignet (pronounced "beign-yay") is a pastry made from deep-fried dough and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Beignets are often found in, and typically associated with, the city of New Orleans, in places like Café Du Monde in the French Quarter.
If you ever go to Café Du Monde or Morning Call, you should get an order of beignets with extra powdered sugar, pretend to have to sneeze and then blow the powdered sugar all over your little brother or sister. They'll hate it, but you'll thoroughly enjoy yourself. And when they grow up, they'll pass the tradition along to their kids.
"Beign-Yay" is a Storyville Original, designed by LSU alumna Elizabeth Harvey and William & Mary student Bailey Thomson and Texas State student Sara Ruffin.
"Beign-Yay" is printed on a forest green-colored, 100% cotton Next Level tee with white and gold inks.
